Crystal Police: Pedestrian Was in Traffic Lanes When Fatally Struck
Crystal police are investigating the death of a woman who police say was struck by two vehicles Saturday night.
Police say it happened just before 8:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Douglas Drive.
When officers arrived at the scene they found the woman trapped underneath one of the vehicles. Crews from the West Metro Fire-Rescue District lifted the car off the woman, who was then rushed to North Memorial Health Hospital where was pronounced dead.
According to a preliminary investigation, Crystal police say the woman had been walking in the middle of traffic lanes on Douglas Drive when it was dark at the time she was struck by the two vehicles.
Police say the drivers of both vehicles stopped immediately and are cooperating with the investigation.
“Neither driver appeared impaired or distracted when officers arrived,” said Brian Hubbard, Crystal’s deputy police chief, in a press release to CCX News.

As of Monday, the identity of the woman killed had not yet been released.
