Crystal Police Ask Public for Help in Homicide Investigation
Crystal police are asking for the public’s help in a homicide investigation.
On March 21, police found the body of 40-year-old Eddie Winters inside a vehicle on the 3200 block of Hampshire Avenue North in Crystal.
Investigators say Winters was stabbed to death.
Now, Crystal Police Chief Stephanie Revering is asking people who live nearby to search their property for evidence such as bags, backpacks, knives or clothing that may be covered with blood.
Specifically, they want people to check their yards in the following areas:
- Area from 32nd Ave N to 36th Ave N between Georgia Ave N and Nevada Avenue N
- Area along 36th Ave N from Nevada Ave N to Welcome Ave N
- Area from 36th Ave N to 40th Ave N between Douglas Drive and Welcome Ave N
- Area from 38th Ave N to 42nd Ave N between Toledo Ave N and Noble Ave N, also including immediate area around the Robbinsdale Transit Hub.
“We really would appreciate anything that anybody finds in their yards that seems suspicious to them,” Revering said. “That would eventually lead to us being able to attach it to our criminal proceedings with regards to this case.”
If you happen to see something, Revering says to avoid touching it and call the police instead.
Meanwhile, investigators say they do have a suspect in mind, and that person was known to the victim.
Anyone with information should call the Crystal Police department at (763) 531-1020.
