Cross Food Shelf in Rogers Seeks Donations

Food shelves are preparing for their biggest fundraising push of the year in March, which is FoodShare Month. CROSS, a nonprofit in Rogers, expects to raise 15 percent of its annual budget next month. 

CROSS is planning for a fundraiser to kick off the month on March, 1. Maynards restaurant in Rogers will help in a big way.

“Maynards in Rogers is giving a hundred percent of all the proceeds on Monday, March 1,” said CROSS CEO Elizabeth Brown. “So come out to Maynards on Monday and a 100 percent of everything you eat and drink will come to CROSS.”

Throughout the month, CROSS has a benefactor in Kottemann Orthodontics which will do a dollar-for-dollar match up to $10,000. Otto Bremer Trust is also stepping up to make a $25,000 match donation.

The financial support CROSS receives from the FoodShare organization and Hunger Solutions later in the year is determined in large part by the amount of food and funds they raise March 1 through April 11.
