COVID-19 Testing Site Opens at New Hope Hy-Vee
Hy-Vee opened a several drive-through COVID-19 testing sites throughout the Midwest, including one at the New Hope store that opened on Friday.
Hy-Vee’s testing site is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and you do not have to get out of your vehicle for the test, which is a nasal swab. Children 6 years or older can be tested with the rapid antigen test when registered and accompanied by a parent or guardian. Hy-Vee says a trained pharmacy employee will process the payment before administering the swab test. The test is expected to take less than 2 minutes. All patients are required to wear a mask during the testing process, and lower it beneath their nose during the test. After testing is complete, results will be sent to the patient by email. Hy-Vee says patients should receive same day test results in as little as 1-2 hours.
However, you do have to register for an appointment. The CDC says people who are symptomatic and people who are asymptomatic with a known exposure in the last 14 days are eligible for rapid antigen testing.
