Coronavirus Concerns Impact Boston Scientific Revenue
Coronavirus concerns have impacted Maple Grove’s largest employer.
Boston Scientific reported Wednesday that its global sales for 2019 grew 9 percent to reach its highest point in 10 years. However, the company is lowering revenue expectations for 2020 due to the outbreak.
The med-tech giant has a small but growing business operation in China. The company expects to lose as much as $40 million in revenue in the first quarter. Other large U.S. companies that do business in China also expect to see a financial hit.
Boston Scientific is one of Minnesota’s largest employers with 7,000 workers. It also employs about 32,000 people worldwide.
