Construction on Robbinsdale’s Parker Station Flats Begins Soon
Construction crews will start work on Parker Station Flats on 36th Avenue and France Avenues in Robbinsdale soon after Thanksgiving. There will be nearly 200 luxury units in the complex. This will be the second of two market rate, non-senior apartment complexes built in the city recently.
“This does not happen very often,” said Mayor Regan Murphy. “Actually, since I’ve been mayor, it’s never happened to have this many entities come together to be part of a project so that’s pretty exciting.”
Various city, county and state entities like DEED provided for clean-up and redevelopment of the area. Robbinsdale has been fully developed since 1975, so two market-rate apartments like Parker Station Flats and Birdtown Flats excites city leaders.
“It’s a thing that revitalizes us,” said Bill Blonigan, council member. “It will be a great place for people to congregate.”
Parker Station Flats will have almost 200 luxury units. They will also have amenities like a yoga studio, outdoor pool, fire pit, and underground parking. The developer also worked with the city to build the Hy-Vee store nearby.
“There’s a real opportunity for redevelopment to occur here and more importantly, there’s a need for high-end housing,” said Kent Carlson, with Inland Development Partners. “This site fits that bill very well because of the proximity to downtown, Robbinsdale, park amenities across the street, and retail amenities like the new Hy-Vee. It’s ideal for a housing project like we’re proposing.”
