Construction on Brooklyn Park’s Hwy 169 Interchange Begins in Spring
Brooklyn Park plans to begin construction on the interchange at Highway 169 and 101st Avenue North in the spring. Federal funding for an interchange at Highway 169 and 101st Avenue has already been approved. But that money wasn’t expected to be ready until 2021.
The city plans to start construction earl next year. The 30-million dollar project will support growth in the northern part of the city. Specifically, it will support the growth of Target’s northern campus and other mixed-use developments in that area.
The Brooklyn Park interchange isn’t without controversy. Churches in the area expressed concern about the high assessments from the project.
