Coborn’s Teams with David Fhima for New Plymouth Food Experience
Well-known Twin Cities restaurateur David Fhima will partner with Coborn’s for a trio of fast-casual food concepts inside the new flagship grocery store under construction in Plymouth.
The new culinary partnership comes as another new stand-alone restaurant, The Buttered Tin, announced it will open inside the store. The Buttered Tin is owned by Alicia Hinze, who gained fame as a winner on Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars.”
Inside the new prototype grocery store, called Coborn’s Market & Table, will be The Global Table, offering meal offerings inspired by Fhima’s background.
The three food-court style concepts will be Basta Pasta, dishes inspired by regions across Italy; Abuela’s Mexican Kitchen, Mexican fare rooted in family
traditions; and Brother’s Burgers, featuring handcrafted gourmet burgers.
“Chef David Fhima and pastry chef Alicia Hinze bring exceptional culinary talent to Coborn’s Market & Table,” said Emily Coborn Wright, president of Coborn’s, Inc., in a press statement to CCX News. “From handcrafted burgers and traditional global dishes to signature baked goods, guests will have fresh, chef-driven options for breakfast, lunch or dinner – all conveniently available in one vibrant, community-focused shopping experience.”
Fhima is a fixture in the Minneapolis culinary scene, operating Fhima’s Minneapolis, a modern take on French Moroccan cuisine; Maison Margaux, a Parisian-inspired restaurant in the North Loop; and Mother Dough bakeries.
Coborn’s Market & Table is expected to open in March 2026. It will anchor The Boulevard, a 75-acre development at the site of the former Prudential campus, located at the intersection of I-494 and Bass Lake Road.
