Clinic Sofia in Maple Grove Collects Feminine Hygiene Products
The entire month of November, Clinic Sofia in Maple Grove is collecting “Crimson Kits” for women who don’t have consistent access to menstrual products. In early December, Clinic Sofia will donate the items to Haven Housing and People Serving People. The products will support homeless women and domestic violence victims.
“About one in four people who have periods don’t have consistent access to menstrual products,” said Dr. Erin Stevens of Clinic Sofia. “So if we’re able to take away some of that burden, some of that stress, from an already really stressful life, that’s our whole goal here in trying to help people.”
This is the third year the clinic has collected these products. Items they’re collecting include pads, tampons, panty liners, sanitizing wipes, menstrual cups, hand sanitizer and chocolate.
Last year, they gathered enough supplies to support 30 women through an entire year. Anyone wanting to donate can drop off the sanitary supplies at Clinic Sofia’s Maple Grove or Edina locations.
