Child, 3, Killed in Fall Out of Brooklyn Center Apartment Window
Brooklyn Center police are investigating how a 3-year-old child fell eight stories out of an apartment building window.
Police confirmed to CCX News that the child died from the fall. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has yet to reveal the child’s identity.
The incident happened just after 10:40 a.m. Saturday at the Lux Apartments, located on the 6100 block of Summit Drive.
Brooklyn Center police said first responders attempted life-saving measures, but the child was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are looking into how the child was able to gain access to the window opening before falling. Brooklyn Center detectives interviewed family members who were present at the scene, police said.
The Hennepin County Crime Lab and the medical examiner are assisting Brooklyn Center police in the investigation.
It’s uncertain yet if any charges could be filed.
