Champlin Park High School Students Raise Awareness for Homeless Youth
Student members of a Champlin Park High School community service club packed food bags for homeless youth. The effort by the Leo Club also helps raise awareness. Students earned money for the food bags by selling concessions at various school events.
“This was an issue that I’m very passionate about, homelessness, and it’s about giving back to people in your community when you are fortunate,” said Grace Olalaye, a student with the Leo Club.
The bags will go to Hope for Youth, a Coon Rapids-based nonprofit that works to prevent homelessness in the northern Twin Cities metro.
Students also put cards with special messages in each bag of food.
