CEAP Resumes Annual Farm Fresh Fest
CEAP kicked off their summer farmers market style food bank this week.
Last year the nonprofit handed out food by drive-through, but this year people who qualify can pick up in-season fruits and vegetables at Farm Fresh Fest events throughout the rest of the summer.
“We’re thrilled to be out here,” said Steve Jaffee, CEAP director of operations. “It’s been really challenging the last two years and this is really the first opportunity we’ve had to be front facing with our community members so we’re just thrilled to be out here today.”
CEAP’s Farm Fresh Fest is held under the parking garage near their Brooklyn Center facility.
Anyone can stop by to pick up food at the event. The produce is fresh, in-season and produced locally.
Each week, the partnerships and activities available will be centered around a theme. Farm Fresh Fest will take place at CEAP from 4 p.m.-6 p.m on the following Wednesdays:
- July 13: PlayStrong
- July 27: BeStrong
- August 10: GrowStrong
- August 24: LearnStrong
- September 7: WorkStrong
- October 5: MinnesotaStrong
