Brooklyn Park Police Search for Man Who Tried to Grab Female Runner on Trail
Police: Man Tries to Grab Woman Runner Near Oak Grove Park
Brooklyn Park police are searching for a man who attempted to grab a woman running on the Three Rivers Park District trail near Oak Grove Park.
Police say it happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday when officers responded to the area and located an 18-year-old woman. Police say the woman reported that she was running on the trail when she was followed by a man who was walking his bike. Police say the man attempted to talk with the woman and grabbed her wrist, but the woman was able to fight off the suspect and run away.
Police released the following suspect description:
- White male around 40-50 years old
- Approximately 6’1” tall with slim build
- Black mustache and short black hair
- Wearing a gray t-shirt, sunglasses and blue or black shorts
- Riding/walking with a gray/black mountain-style bike.
Police say the man was last seen northbound on the trail near 103rd Avenue. They have increased police patrols on the trails “for the foreseeable future.”
