Brooklyn Park Police Respond To Another Child Struck By Vehicle
Brooklyn Park police responded to another incident of a child struck by a vehicle, the second case in a span of 48 hours.
The latest incident happened shortly before 9:20 a.m. Friday near Birch Grove Elementary School for the Arts.
Police say a 10-year-old student was in the crosswalk on Noble Avenue when the boy was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Brookdale Drive.
The driver, a 36-year-old woman, stopped and cooperated with officers.
Police tell CCX News that the child was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Police Seek Hit-and-Run Driver in Wednesday Case
In a case on Wednesday morning, a 12-year-old girl was struck by a car near her bus stop. In that case, the driver never stopped.
Police believe that the driver, described as a white female, knew she hit someone.
As of Friday afternoon, police continued to look for her and her vehicle, described as a 2015 to 2019 Hyundai Sonata or Genesis, white in color, with the passenger side mirror missing.
The 12-year-old child is recovering from her injuries, police said.
