Brooklyn Park Police Nab Carjacking Suspect Near Park
Brooklyn Park police arrested a carjacking suspect Thursday morning following a vehicle pursuit and foot chase, police said.
Police said they were initially called to Norwood Park, located at 8100 Newton Ave. N., just after 9 a.m., where officers located a victim who had been carjacked at gunpoint.
Shortly after, police said officers located the victim’s stolen vehicle nearby. That’s when police said the driver began to speed off.
Police initiated a pursuit and following a brief chase, officers performed a PIT maneuver near the intersection of 85th and Queen avenues north to stop the vehicle, police said. The driver then got out and tried to run away, but was arrested a short time after, police said.
Brooklyn Park police said officers recovered a firearm from inside the stolen vehicle.
