Brooklyn Park Police Investigate Shooting Death of 19-year-old Man
Brooklyn Park police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Friday morning, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old man.
According to Brooklyn Park police, the shooting happened in a residential neighborhood in the 9500 block of Thomas Avenue North. Police say they didn’t learn of the shooting until the gunshot victim arrived at Unity Hospital in Fridley.
Officers with the Fridley Police Department contacted the Brooklyn Park Police Department shortly before 2 a.m. advising them of a shooting victim who arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said. The young man, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police say his friends transported him to the Fridley hospital after he was shot in Brooklyn Park.
It’s unclear what led to the shooting. As of Friday afternoon, no arrests had been made in the case, police said.
