Brooklyn Park Officer, Two Others Hospitalized in Crash
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash that sent a Brooklyn Park police officer and two others to the hospital.
The crash, which involved a Brooklyn Park police squad vehicle, happened shortly after 1:40 a.m. Thursday near Regent and 76th avenues, according to Brooklyn Park police.
The State Patrol responded to the crash scene.
State Patrol spokesperson Lt. Michael Lee said the officer had his lights and siren on when he collided with another vehicle. A 50-year-old man and 45-year-old woman, both of Brooklyn Park, were in the other vehicle.
Lee said the injuries to the officer, a 29-year-old man, and the two people in the other vehicle are non-life threatening.
Brooklyn Park police said the officer was responding to assist other officers with a fight call when the accident occurred.
“The police vehicle and the involved vehicle were heavily damaged,” said a release sent by Brooklyn Park police.
