Brooklyn Park Nonprofit Organizes Back-to-School Supply Giveaway
The first day of school is just over a month away. In Brooklyn Park, there’s an effort to help kids get ready with needed supplies and clothing.
CCX news caught up with Clint “Scooter” Draughn, founder of Honored 2 Help. His Brooklyn Park nonprofit organizes a back-to-school supply drive to help kids from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Draughn showed hundreds of pairs of shoes and backpacks full of school supplies that will be given away.
Having grown up in times of need himself, Draughn said he can identify with how difficult it can be to cover all the costs for school.
“There’s a lot of kids in need, and we want to be able to supply as much as we can,” he said.
This is now the fifth year Honored 2 Help has held the supply giveaway.
“I’ve gotten tears, I’ve gotten hugs, I’ve gotten testimonies of how much it has helped the kids and how much it has impacted them, the families, the mothers, the fathers … so, it’s honestly breathtaking of the feedback of what we’ve gotten,” said Draughn.

To receive supplies, families just need to register.
The giveaway is Aug. 16 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Park Center High School. More details can be found at https://www.honored2help.org/events-2.
