Brooklyn Park Motorcyclist Killed in I-94 Crash
A Brooklyn Park man lost his life in a motorcycle crash late Sunday night. The incident added to a historically deadly year on Minnesota roads.
The Minnesota State Patrol identified the crash victim as 54-year-old John Eric Nelson of Brooklyn Park. The crash occurred at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday on Interstate Highway 94 near Freeport, northwest of St. Cloud.
The incident report says Nelson’s 2007 Yamaha FJR motorcycle came into contact with the rear of the semi. The motorcycle then came to a rest on the median shoulder. Nelson was wearing a helmet, the State Patrol said.
Through the first half of the year, Minnesota has had the most fatalities on roadways since 2009.
