Brooklyn Park Man’s Toy Drive Collects Over 1,000 Gifts
Jerry Moscowitz has been collecting gifts for Toys for Tots for 33 years through a holiday party at his home. Because of COVID-19, he collected toys over a two-day period by offering drive-through and drop-off opportunities at his Brooklyn Park home. The result? More than 1,000 toys accumulated, his largest charity collection yet.
“We never thought about canceling it because the need for the toys was greater than ever,” said Moscowitz. “We just thought about how we can have this in a safe way to be able to continue to contribute.”
He expects to surpass his previous record of 774 toys. The Marines come to the his house to pick up the toys.
