Brooklyn Park Family Builds 20-foot-tall Snowman
A Brooklyn Park family likes our abundance of snow so much that they created something for the community to enjoy.
“I like putting smiles on children’s faces,” said new Brooklyn Park resident Kate Kolze. “We are trying to spread joy in my neighborhood.”
Kolze is from Nigeria and adapts well to our cold, snowy winters.
“You see white snow all over. Sometimes you want to do something to make people smile,” said Kolze.
As they say, go big or go home. Kolze built the 20-foot snowman and slide in about a month from the snow in her front yard.
Kolze packed the snow inside buckets to form the structure.
“My kids, sometimes they would come and help, and my husband, too, would come to help me put the bucket because it’s too heavy,” she explained.
Kolze is hoping for the winter weather to stay around for a bit longer, so everyone can enjoy the fruits of her labor.
“Yes, come check it out. Enjoy yourself. That’s why I’m doing it, ” said Kolze, who allowed CCX News to share her address.
The house is located off Newton and 76th Avenue North in Brooklyn Park.
