Brooklyn Park Discusses Organic Recycling
Hennepin County requires all cities to have access to curbside organics recycling by 2022. A recent survey showed more than 50 percent of Brooklyn Park residents would pay $4 a month for curbside organics recycling.
Currently, the only option for Brooklyn Park residents to recycle curbside is through Randy’s. Last year, they reported 32 households enrolled.
A recent city survey said 21 percent of households would be very likely to participate in organics recycling if it was offered and 29 percent were somewhat likely. Of those responses, 70 percent said they’d be willing to pay $4 a month for the service.
The city has also gotten a number of enthusiastic responses from residents saying they support curbside organics recycling.
