Brooklyn Park Deer Herd on the Grow
An aerial survey found that Brooklyn Park’s deer herd is more than 40 percent larger than it was last year. The city works with a group of bowhunters to control the deer population through hunts during the fall. This is done to reduce the number of deer-car related accidents, which has drastically fallen since the controlled hunts began in 2011. The city council approved hunts for three weekends for this fall in eleven different zones of the city.
