Brooklyn Park Approves Sister-City Agreement
The Brooklyn Park City Council approved a new sister city agreement with Garowe, Somalia. The purpose is to better connect with residents who are natives of Somalia.
Garowe is located on Africa’s northeast coast with a population of just under 200,000 people.
This is the second active sister-city relationship for Brooklyn Park. Kakata, Liberia is also a sister city to Brooklyn Park.
Brooklyn Park is the largest, most diverse suburb in Minnesota. About 20 percent of the population is foreign born.
