Brooklyn Center Police Seek Vehicle Used in Armed Robbery
Brooklyn Center police are asking for the public’s help in solving an armed robbery.
Police posted a photo this week of a vehicle that they say was used to flee the crime scene.
The incident happened the evening of Tuesday, June 18, near Evergreen Park. Police say the vehicle fled the area of 72nd and Bryant avenues north at about 5:35 p.m.
Police say the victim thought he was meeting someone to purchase a cell phone. He ended up getting robbed at gunpoint and the situation turned violent.
“Shots were fired at him as he chased the suspects,” Brooklyn Center police said in a social media post.
The victim was not injured, police said.
Police are encouraging residents who live near Evergreen Park to check outside cameras that may have captured more footage of the robber’s vehicle.
Photos should be sent to Detective Dan Lindstrom at dlindstrom@BrooklynCenterMN.gov or call 763-503-3212.
Brooklyn Center police also remind residents to consider a safe location for online exchanges.
“Please consider conducting the exchange of online purchases in the lobby of your police department and also utilizing any marked parking lot exchange spaces that are covered by a camera,” police said.
