Brooklyn Center Police: Sale Dispute Leads to Shots Fired Between Vehicles
Brooklyn Center Police: 911 Call Reports Shots Fired at Moving Vehicle
Brooklyn Center police say someone called 911 on Monday night to report they were following a vehicle that was actively shooting at them.
The call came in shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday. Officers eventually located both vehicles near Interstate 694 and County Road 81 in Brooklyn Park. Police say both vehicles had bullet damage, but there were no reported injuries.
Exactly what caused the disagreement that led to the shots fired remains unclear. The 911 callers said they were meeting up in the old Target parking lot to meet someone to buy shoes. That’s when someone pulled out a gun and stole $400 and a gun from the alleged victims, police said.
Police also spoke with the alleged suspects, who said the meeting involved the sale of marijuana. They told police it was the alleged victims who pulled out a gun at them and started firing as they drove off.
According to Brooklyn Center police, all of the individuals involved are adults. Police arrested three men connected to the incident, one in his 20s and two others in their 30s.
There was a large police presence in Brooklyn Park where both vehicles were located. Brooklyn Park police and Hennepin County deputies assisted with the investigation.
