Brooklyn Center Police Investigate Fatal Shooting
Brooklyn Center police say they are investigating the fatal shooting of a man Sunday afternoon.
According to police, officers were called to the 5300 block of Bryant Avenue North for a report of a shooting. On arrival, officers learned a man was driven to North Memorial Health Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
As of Tuesday afternoon, police continued to investigate and search for a suspect.
“At this time no arrests have been made and this is not considered to be a random incident,” said Brooklyn Center police Cmdr. Rick Gabler in a press release.
No other injuries were reported.
Police say the incident required a heavy police presence due to rumors circulating that it was an officer-involved shooting.
The Maple Grove police K-9 unit, a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, Robbinsdale police and Minneapolis police all provided assistance to the incident.
