UPDATE: Authorities ID Man Killed in Brooklyn Center Shooting
Brooklyn Center police continue to investigate a homicide in which a man was shot and killed. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the man as Dattreas Markeal Stewart, 45, of Brooklyn Center. Stewart died of a gunshot wound to the head, the medical examiner said.
The fatal shooting happened at the Pump n’ Munch gas station in the 1500 block of 69th Avenue at about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. Police say they found Stewart in a vehicle. First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but Stewart died at the scene.
Authorities, meanwhile, continue to look for the shooter. Brooklyn Center Police Cmdr. Rick Gabler tells CCX news that the crime does not appear to be random.
