Brooklyn Center Mayor Serenades Council for the Holidays
Brooklyn Center Mayor April Graves surprised residents and her fellow city council members with a surprise Christmas carol during Monday’s council meeting.
She sang the song “Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
The song came at the end of the invocation, after a poem and a few reflections on the year.
“I think that we’ve made some good strides this year, both in our ability to work together as a council and staff,” said Graves. “I wanted to say thank you to my fellow council members, city staff, and community members who have stepped up and helped us in leading and serving the community.”
Graves also explained that since she celebrates Christmas and her birthday is near the holiday, she is “full of the Christmas spirit” around the holidays.
The council, staff, and people attending the meeting applauded.
