Brooklyn Center Hotel Worker Named ‘Hospitality Rockstar’
An employee of a Brooklyn Center hotel received some rock star treatment this week.
Rhoda Fleming of Brooklyn Center’s Country Inn & Suites is this year’s “Hospitality Rockstar.” The award is presented every year by the tourism group Minneapolis Northwest to a hospitality worker who goes above and beyond at their job.
Fleming officially works at the hotel as a front desk agent, but she also makes breakfast, cleans rooms, does laundry and helps with anything else the hotel needs.
“I feel wonderful. I feel like now, really, my work here has been appreciated,” said Fleming, after receiving the recognition. “So I feel great. I love everybody here. This is overwhelming for me.”
The Hospitality Rockstar award consists of a Visa gift card worth $500. Fleming plans to use the money to buy Christmas presents for her grandchildren.
