Brooklyn Boulevard Lane Closures Impact Brooklyn Center
In Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Boulevard is down to one lane in each direction between Bass Lake Road and I-94/694. Work on the one-mile segment is meant to improve safety for drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians.
The work is part of a two-year project that started last year where crews will rebuild Brooklyn Boulevard. The city says the project will improve access to Brooklyn Boulevard and enhance safety for people who walk, bike, drive or use transit.
The first phase of construction was in 2020 and created a few traffic headaches for drivers.
Drivers can expect short-term closures and delays. Sidewalks on one side will remain open for pedestrians, but they may shift over time.
Work began on Monday, May 24.
