Bridge Over Hwy. 169 Reopens with Lane Modifications
The Brooklyn Boulevard bridge over Highway 169 in Brooklyn Park reopened Friday with lane modifications.
Brooklyn Park City Engineer Marcus Culver confirmed the bridge reopened with two eastbound lanes and one westbound lane open.
The bridge, which connects Maple Grove to Brooklyn Park, fully closed Monday after a truck with a backhoe smashed into it.
MnDOT engineers assessed the safety of the bridge.
Culver said emergency repairs are currently planned for next spring, which will likely involve another closure at that time.
