Basketball Training Facility Proposed at Plymouth Home
A Plymouth homeowner may soon be able to operate a basketball training business out of his home.
The business, Pure Intensity Basketball, would operate out of a home located at 1315 Oakview Lane in Plymouth. The owner, Daniel Makepeace, who is an assistant coach at Providence Academy, built a large sport court at his home and plans to offer basketball training.
According to city documents, Makepeace states that his private basketball training business would generate roughly 15-20 clients that come through weekly, and 10-15 others that come through one to two times per month. Training sessions would be one-on-one and last about an hour.
About three-quarters of the clients are middle schoolers, while the rest are in high school.
The Plymouth Planning Commission recommended approval for a home occupation license during its Wednesday meeting. The city council is expected to vote on final approval at its Feb. 6 meeting.
