Armstrong’s Patti Weldon Honored as Minnesota Activities Director of the Year
The Minnesota Interscholastic Activities Administrators Association (MIAAA) named Armstrong High School’s Patti Weldon the Minnesota Activities Director of the Year. Weldon has been the activities director at Armstrong High School for the past 17 years and with the district for 33 years.
As activities director at Armstrong High School, Weldon coordinates the logistics and operations of activities that range from athletics to fine arts to academic clubs.
Earlier this school year, the MIAAA selected Weldon as the Region 6AA Activities Director of the Year, which is the second time she’s earned that distinction.
“I am so honored to receive this award,” said Weldon in a press release. “This is a reflection of the teamwork and dedication by coaching staff and fine arts advisors who provide positive opportunities for our students to succeed in activities offered at the extension of the school day. I am fortunate to come to work every day with people who care about kids.”
A selection committee from the Minnesota Interscholastic Activities Administrators Association chose Weldon. She will receive the award at the annual state conference in March.
