Another Charged in Connection with Zaria McKeever’s Murder
The mother of a man who admitted to plotting the killing of his 23-year-old ex-girlfriend has been charged as an accomplice.
Valesha Parker, 47, is facing multiple counts of aiding an offender in the first degree murder of Zaria McKeever.
McKeever was fatally shot in her apartment in 2022 by a Brooklyn Park teen.
Erick Haynes, her ex-boyfriend and father to her child, has admitted to sending two teens to break into her apartment. They were supposed to target McKeever’s boyfriend, but instead shot McKeever five times, killing her.
Haynes took a plea deal and is facing life in prison.
Now, his mother has been charged for her role in the crime.
According to prosecutors, Parker falsely told police Haynes was in Fridley at the time of the murder.
Investigators also believe that Parker was present in a Brooklyn Center hotel room with Haynes and other accomplices during discussions after the shooting occurred.
She was charged by summons and is not in police custody.
