Animal Humane Society Receives Donations of Toy Giraffes
It’s fairly common for people to take different animals to the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley, but it’s not often that you’ll see people dropping off giraffes.
Staff members from Chuck & Don’s dressed in safari hats and delivered 2,000 stuffed giraffes on Thursday. Chuck & Don’s held a special promotion in July. Any time a customer purchased a Fluff & Tuff dog toy, the company donated a stuffed giraffe. The Animal Humane Society plans to use the giraffes as toys for dogs in their shelters.
“We were lucky enough to get this donation from Chuck & Don’s. Because we have so many animals in need, in need of enrichment, and we can handle a donation of this size,” said Liv Hagen, who leads the behavior modification and rehabilitation program at AHS. “So we’re very fortunate and we’re very lucky that we were able to receive all of these giraffes.”
Officials from the Animal Humane Society say that donations like these help animals become more comfortable in an unfamiliar environment.
