After Train Crash, Robbinsdale 88-Year-Old Has “Life-Altering” Injuries
The two women involved in a train crash in Robbinsdale last week continue to recover.
Robbinsdale police say the 69-year-old driver of the vehicle has been released from the hospital. However, the 88-year-old passenger remains in intensive care. Police say her injuries are life-altering, but not life-threatening.
That incident happened on July 29, when a BNSF train struck the passenger side of a Toyota RAV4 at the 42nd Avenue crossing. The train then dragged the vehicle down the tracks about 130 yards.
Police have been periodically checking in on the women since the incident.
“Wonderful family, and they’ve been very, very thankful for the care they’ve received, as well as just the caring of us stopping by and checking in on them and seeing if they need anything,” said Robbinsdale Police Captain John Elder.
Elder says both of the women are Robbinsdale residents.
