After Repeated Flooding, New Hope to Improve Drainage at Civic Center Park
The New Hope City Council voted to install pipes and a catch basin to improve drainage at Civic Center Park. The tile has been plugged with sand and engineered playground mulch, which means standing water is a common sight at the park.
Staff say the playground was built in 2012 and over time the existing drain tile has stopped working. The flooding issues only got worse during the Xylon Avenue reconstruction project.
The resolution passed by city council added the project on to work improvements already underway at Corner Park.
