AAA Says Travel Up, Despite Higher Gas Prices
Travel by air or car is picking up now that the holidays are near. AAA is expecting a lot more people to hit the road this Thanksgiving despite the higher gas prices. While flying is a popular option, AAA expects more people to drive to their holiday destinations, despite the higher gas prices.
AAA says 53 million Americans plan to be traveling this Thanksgiving.
“Getting a little more brave to travel and see grandma and grandpa, or whoever it is, whether that’s Thanksgiving or Christmas time or New Year’s. There is a definitely a surge in the drive traffic,” says Linda Snyder, the Vice President of Travel and Retail Services at AAA.
