In a break from the norm, Governor Tim Walz will NOT hold a daily media briefing with officials from the Minnesota Department of Health and other state agencies on Thursday, April 16.

A news release sent out by the governor’s communications team Thursday morning stated that Gov. Walz will be on a conference call with President Trump and governors from other states at 2 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Department of Health released the latest figures regarding COVID-19 cases in the state.
- As of April 16, there are now 1,912, lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Minnesota.
- Minnesota has a total of 94 COVID-19 deaths.
- 213 people are in the hospital, and 103 of those hospitalized are in the ICU
