300 Applicants Take Brooklyn Park Firefighter Exam
More than 300 applicants took the written exam to become a full-time Brooklyn Park firefighter cadet last week. Once the tests are graded by a third-party company, the top band of candidates will be invited to physical ability practice.

Fire Chief John Cunningham says he’s excited and delighted by the turnout.
The physical ability practice will happen at the end of February with that test scheduled for early March.
Brooklyn Park is transitioning from a paid-on call department to a full-time department. Cadets selected to participate in Brooklyn Park’s firefighter cadet academy will receive paid, on-the-job training. The plan is to hire up to eight full-time firefighters this year.
