$1.9M Maple Grove Home Sale To Benefit St. Jude Children’s Cancer Research
A $1.9 million home up for sale in Maple Grove is part of a Minnesota first.
The brand new home built by Andover-based Hanson Builders is the first home in the state to be part of the St. Jude Dream Home Showplace. Proceeds from the sale will be donated to St. Jude in its mission to fight childhood cancer.
“When it comes to thinking about somebody else’s having to have their kids in the hospital dealing with cancer, something like that, that’s every parent’s worst nightmare,” said JD Hanson, president of Hanson Builders. “So if we can take into consideration a little bit to contribute and be a part of something really amazing like St. Jude does, we absolutely want to be a part of it.”
The home, located at 10190 Peony Ln. N. in the Evanswood neighborhood, is also part of the fall Parade of Homes tour.
The 6,000-square-foot-home features an indoor sports court and outdoor putting green. Hanson said more than 4,000 worker hours went into construction.
“It’s an amazing house and we were really able to get creative and have some fun,” said Hanson.

According to Megan Nettleton, area executive director with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the sale will be the biggest donation in St. Jude Dream Home Showplace history.
“We feel blessed. We feel honored to be a part of it,” said Nettleton. “It’s the first time bringing it to the [Twin Cities] and we’re hoping to keeping it around as a program for years to come because we know we’re making a difference.”
