Two Create Shows Earn National Recognition
CCX Create brought home accolades this summer with two locally produced shows earning national recognition at in the Alliance for Community Media’s Hometown Media Awards.
The show “Baby Blue Arts Presents Holiday Celebration 2023” won in the “Local Performances, Independent Producer” category. CCX Create members working on the show include Dick Erickson, Laurie Patton, Seth Rowan, Bruce Lehrer, and Ricky Strehlow. Baby Blue Arts has a website where you can see past performances that feature a variety of musicians.
The show “Cable Hotdish Season 2 Premier” won in the “Entertainment & Arts Series, Independent Producer” category. CCX Create member Maxwell Gable is the producer of the show, with several Create members like Tim “Wax” Johnson and Sean Fahrni filling both talent and production roles. Cable Hotdish has a YouTube channel dedicated to their current season.
The annual awards program recognizes community media, community radio, and local cable programs that are distributed on Public, Educational and Governmental (PEG) access cable television channels. The organization says nearly one thousand entries are submitted each year and then evaluated on several factors that results in more than 100 award winners. According to their website, awards are presented to the most creative programs that address community needs, develop diverse community involvement, challenge conventional commercial television formats and move viewers to experience television in a different way.
