Filing for CCX Media Board of Directors Create Seat Opens on Oct. 22

CCX Media is a nonprofit and governed by a Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of a representative appointed by each of our nine member cities, four at-large positions that are appointed by the Northwest Suburbs Cable Communications Commission, and two CCX Create producers who are elected by Create members. 

The Board meets quarterly to make decisions that govern the organization. The decisions include matters related to budget, programming and services. You can see archives of past meetings on the Northwest Suburbs Cable Communications Commission website.

CCX Create Board members are expected to participate in the quarterly board meetings, which are held at 7:30 a.m. at the CCX Media facilities. Board members assist staff with event planning, serve on the bi-monthly Create Action Committee, and attend member gatherings. More than three unexcused absences from board meetings in a year can result in termination from the Board.

The two-year term begins on January 1, 2025. The first board meeting of the term is February 20.

To become a candidate for the Board of Directors you must:

1.  Be a resident of one of the nine communities served by CCX Media.
2.  Be a member of CCX Media.
3.  Must be a member of CCX Create for at least 6 months.
4.  Must be an active member (participated in at least 6 productions in the last 6 months).
5.  Be at least 18 years old by October 22, 2024.
6.  File as a candidate by providing a candidate’s profile to CCX Media no later than Wednesday, October 30.

All candidates must provide a written profile of 300 words or less. The profile should describe the candidate’s involvement with CCX Media and state the candidate’s view on why they feel they can contribute to the success of CCX Media. The profile, along with a photo will be displayed at the studio during the election. Please submit your profile to create@ccxmedia.org no later than October 30.

Voting Begins November 5

1.  Official ballots will be sent to your email on November 5. CCX Create will provide the option to cast your vote in person or through email. Voting will take place November 5-16.
2.  To vote, you must be a member of CCX Media.
3.  Members may only vote once. Votes for write-in candidates are not allowed and will not be counted.
4.  All balloting will be secret and in case of a tie, a runoff election will be held within one week to resolve the tie between candidates. Nominations will not be reopened.
