Robbinsdale Has New and Returning City Council Members
The city council has some new and returning members. We had the chance to catch up with them about what they are hoping to accomplish in their new roles.
Aaron Wagner, Ward 4
Aaron Wagner of Ward 4 says his top priority is see that the residents get the Blue Line through the city, and it’s one of the reasons why he ran for office.
“The big reason I decided to run was the Blue Line Extension. So, I’m a big believer in public transit and I think it would be a huge boon to the community. I bought my house in Robbinsdale about five years ago and I would just love to see that project get started,” said Wagner.
Mia Parisian, Ward 3
Mia Parisian represents Ward 3 in the city. She grew up in Robbinsdale and is looking to give back to the community. Mia served on the Parks & Recreation Committee and the Planning Commission before joining the city council.
“Even though someone very familiar with Robbinsdale growing up here, there is a lot to learn once you’re on this side of the desk, so to speak,” said Parisian. “It’s been a really cool way to engage with community in the last several months through the campaign, learning a lot about what the community cares about.”
Regan Murphy, Ward 1
Regan Murphy returns to the city council after winning a special election in February 2023. He was drawn back to the city council for a specific issue and he hopes to use his experiences to help guide Robbinsdale. He previously served two terms as mayor.
“There’s a lot going on in the city, and so I’m happy to be part of it and hope that, you know, make good choices, changes and keep moving forward,” said Murphy.
