Plymouth’s Holiday at the Hilde is Dec. 3
Plymouth is decking the Hilde with boughs of holiday lights.
This year’s Holiday at the Hilde celebration will take place on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mayor Jeff Wosje will host a tree lighting at 5 p.m.
Ann Mosack, Plymouth recreation supervisor, said the city has some special visitors planned for the kids.
“We’ll have Santa here and real live reindeer that people can visit, pet, and take pictures with,” said Mosack.
The line for Santa and his reindeer will take guests through festively lit archways. The Armstrong High School Chamber Choir will keep guests entertained with Christmas carols. There will be food trucks and hot chocolate for purchase, as well as fire pit stations to keep warm. Mosack says the city expects a good turnout.
“Last year we had 3,000 people, so we do expect a lot of people to come out, especially if the weather is great,” stated Mosack.
Holiday at the Hilde is a free event open to the entire community. Parking will be available at the city hall parking lot and along Plymouth Boulevard.
Mail a Letter To Santa
The city also wants to remind parents that kids can mail Santa a letter and get a personalized response back, as long as they drop their envelope in one of three locations.
“Santa’s mailbox will be available at City Hall, the Plymouth Community Center and the Ice Center,” said Mosack.
Letters to Santa should be dropped off between Monday, Nov. 21, and Friday, Dec. 2. The letters should include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
