Osseo’s 150th Anniversary Wraps Up With Several More Events
Osseo’s 150th anniversary events wrap up in September with a celebration during Lion’s Roar weekend and the commemorative book–full of resident-submitted photos–is now available for sale.
The next event is a coloring contest. You can pick up kids coloring sheets at the 150th Anniversary tent at the city’s Night to Unite.
Kids are encouraged to color in a picture of the 150th anniversary logo, and then the submissions will go on display at city hall and the community center starting in September.
The 150th celebration committee is also hosting an event with author Kevin M. Callahan, to talk about his book “Brothers in Arms,” which features stories about Osseo’s Ear and Harold Phenow, who are buried next to each other after their service in World War II together. That event is Wednesday, August 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center.

Osseo’s 150th anniversary celebration is scheduled for Saturday, September 6 at 2:00 p.m. in Boerboom Park during Lion’s Roar.
Finally, the 150th anniversary culminates with a celebration at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6 in the bandshell at Boerboom Park, after the Lion’s Roar parade winds down.
