Osseo Mayor’s Minutes: Bonding Money and Business Survey
In this Osseo Mayor’s Minutes, Osseo Mayor Duane Poppe discusses a new council member, bonding money news, a business survey, ash trees, and upcoming events in the city.
New Council Member Appointed
Ashlee Mueller, who was the chair of the Osseo’s planning commission, will take the City Council seat vacated by Harold Johnson. Ashlee Mueller has been involved with the EDA and other various committees.
Bonding Money Coming to Osseo
The Minnesota State Legislature approved bonding dollars for lift stations in Osseo. This will help the city address its aging infrastructure.
According to Poppe, the council took multiple visits to the Minnesota State Capitol to make sure the residents of Osseo were heard, “really advocating for the residents of Osseo to be able to receive that money to help offset the cost of those lift stations.”
Business Survey
Osseo is conducting a business survey to get feedback from businesses about their needs and challenges. This information will be used to help the city develop policies and programs that will support the local business community.
EAB Treatments and Sod Replacement
Ash trees on city property in Osseo received treatments for the emerald ash borer beetle. Residents looking for tree care or maintenance can contact Rainbow Treecare for discounted price.
Also, the city is replacing sod from the 202o street project to put the finishing touches on that project.
