Osseo Mayor Says City Looking to Use Former Press Building for Municipal Cannabis
Osseo Mayor Duane Poppe said the city wants to put its new municipal cannabis store in the old newspaper building the city now owns.

Osseo leaders want to use the former Press and News building as a municipal cannabis outlet.
The city now owns the former Osseo Press and News building at 33 2nd St. NE, and Poppe said it makes sense to city leaders to convert at least part of it into the city’s cannabis operation as soon as mid-2026.
“Next steps would be working with our consultant to understand just how the operation and the reporting would be handled,” Poppe told CCX Media’s Dave Kiser.
Small Business Saturday
The city will once again host Small Business Saturday on Saturday, November 29.
“It really brings the community together. Typically, they block off the street there downtown, and we’ve got the fire pits and games going on,” said Poppe. “It’s really just a great day to highlight all the small businesses that are in Osseo.”
