Mayor’s Minutes: Robbinsdale’s Brad Sutton
Robbinsdale Mayor Brad Sutton discussed a handful of upcoming events with CCX Media’s Dave Kiser recently, including ways everyone can get involved planning the city’s big summer festival, Whiz Bang Days.
Sutton said the festival committee meets every third Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Robbinsdale City Hall.
“If you’ve got some ideas and you’ve got a small team you think can help implement those ideas, bring them to the committee,” Sutton said.
This year’s Whiz Bang Days is July 10-13.
As for the city’s new trash collection service, Mayor Sutton said everything has run smoothly. The city switched this month to Republic Services after years of using Waste Management.
“We made that change because residents gave a lot of feedback in the past about some troubling customer experiences they were having,” he said. “I want to tip my hat to city staff. They’ve done a great job of putting a lot of good information out there.”
The city will once again host a paper shredding event. This year it’s on May 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Public Works Garage on Toledo Avenue. Sutton said residents can bring up to six paper bags or three bankers boxes full of paper to get rid of and it will be shredded.
